Reginald Tobias “Randy” Pinkney, beloved resident of Union Point near Athens, Georgia, passed away on May 13, 2025, at Piedmont Hospital in Athens, Georgia, after a life well‑lived and deeply cherished by family and friends. Born on May 27, 1958, in Atlanta, Georgia, Randy was the eldest twin and the first of four children born to Homer Pinkney and Dorothy Greene. Growing up in Greensboro, Georgia, Randy was known for his cheerful personality, strong work ethic, and enthusiastic participation in school and community activities during his formative years.
After graduating from the Greene County School System, Randy embarked on a dedicated career in the manufacturing industry, where he worked tirelessly for more than 30 years before retiring. His commitment to craftsmanship, perseverance, and leadership in the workplace earned him respect and admiration from colleagues and peers alike.
Randy’s cause of death was reported as natural, following his transition at Piedmont Hospital in Athens, a leading medical center known for providing compassionate care to the surrounding communities. More than just a devoted worker, Randy was a pillar of family and community life. Randy is survived by his loving mother, Dorothy W. Greene, stepmother Sarah Pinkney, his twin brother Rodney “Roy” Pinkney, sisters She L. Robinson and Ann Pinkney Dixon, brother Kenneth Pinkney, as well as his daughters Teneisha Pinkney, Keneisa Hall, and Jaquana Pinkney. He also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends who will carry his memory forward.
